My New YouTube Channel and My Initial Resistance to It
Recently, I started recording videos (the talking ones not the singing ones 🎤🎶).
I also set up a YouTube channel.
I can’t believe it! I had never wanted to make videos! In fact, I used to avoid getting on TV in my previous career as a journalist even though the producers kept asking me to talk about my articles on TV. They even gave me training.
It was hard enough to listen to myself in the audio recordings of my media interviews, let alone sharing my voice and my face to the world? No no no no no.

You may remember in my previous blog post where I wrote about how I used to hide a lot. I hid who I was, my opinion and my thoughts, by staying quiet and uncontroversial. I also chose clothes of neutral colors.
Look what I do to show up today. VIDEOS? Are you kidding me???
Here is the thing. Never ever ATTEMPT to PREDICT what your future would look like based on your current situation and thinking of today because your future is never set.
You are not necessarily who you think you are.
Your future, like yourself, comprises of a lot of judgements, assumptions, and current perception relating to yourself, the people around you and the world beyond that.
In other words, the future you project for yourself defaults to your current thinking habit.
Change the way you think, you will change the way you feel about yourself and the world, and that will change your future. You can create a future that you desire.
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
Which areas in your life do you feel you are hiding, or you don't want to show up fully, or you don't want to express yourself authentically and honestly, or you don't want to be seen emotionally, physically or mentally?
This could be related to your work, family, friends, the world around you or just to yourself.
You may sense resistance. You don't want to think about it, you don't want to deal with it, you want to bury it and you want to ignore it.
Where you feel resistance is where the growth is. ❤️
