Honor Yourself

GeorgeBoxQuote.jpg

There are various discussions on what this quote really means or refers to.

This has conjured up so many thoughts in me. It opens up my mind and it is liberating.

The way I read this quote is that:

There is no absolute truth in this world.

No one holds any truth.

What is true is what you know.

Your truth can be subjective.

That means you can be open-minded with other ideas.

What is true for me, it’s not true for others.

That means no one can tell you what is right and what is wrong.

No one can tell you who you are.

No one knows exactly who you are, except you.

That means you are an expert in your own world.

That means you can be more humble with what you know,

For no one has any authority over any knowledge.

That means you don’t need to hold anyone as the authority or the absolute truth either.

You don’t need anyone to give you any approval or validation.

You don’t need to fit yourself into anyone’s thinking or beliefs,

Nor do you need to please anyone and to rely on them to lift you up.

All rules or knowledge are set/said by someone or a group of people.

They set/said them based on what they think they know and have experienced.

All that is subjective.

Take what you find useful and helpful.

Know that you are the most important person in this world.

Honor who you are.

Your journey is the most sacred.

There is no perfection in this world.

Chasing perfection is futile.

Focus your attention and energy on what all the knowledge and experiences give you.

Take in whatever is useful and helpful to you.

Open up yourself to that light inside you.

When the mind analyses, ask yourself honest questions, answer them with god-damn honest answers.

Challenge your answers again and again,

Until you know you are not fooling yourself and lying to yourself.

Open your heart.

Open your mind.

Open yourself up to learn continuously.

Open yourself to be coached and challenged continuously.

Say thanks to Fear for protecting you from pain and hurt.

Say thanks to Ego for keeping you safe.

Say thanks to Jealousy for helping you thrive.

Accept who you are.

Appreciate who you are.

Love who you are.

Give all of you to everyone you meet.

May you experience freedom and peace in yourself.
